Penny Walker is an independent facilitator, trainer, coach and consultant working to bring about change for sustainable development.
For the first ten years of her career, Penny was a campaigner with Friends of the Earth, as a local group activist, office volunteer and staff member.
She changed direction as she became interested in helping people create change from inside the organisations which need to change the most. She has worked as an independent consultant since 1996. You can read an interview with Penny in Blue&Green Tomorrow. And there’s this podcast episode about why facilitation is a key focus now.
She’s constantly on the look out for ways to develop her skills and get better at what she does. As well as getting more training in training skills, facilitation, group work, coaching and environmental subjects, she’s also done a bit of life drawing, stand-up comedy and (once) made fire using a bow drill, while on a bushcraft weekend. In 2020 she had a crash course in how to facilitate online. She is studying for an MA in Creative Writing.
She lives in North London with her husband and a small family of foxes.
