Bringing the analogue to digital meetings

Can you hear me now?

Can you hear me now?

How can you bring physical, analogue experience into virtual, digital meetings? Here are five ideas.

  1. Draw - Ask everyone to grab and pen and paper and draw something. It could be something they can see from where they are, their positive vision of the topic being talked about, or something they miss from before the lockdown.

  2. Hand-drawn graphics - Colourful and jolly signs which you hold up for camera can replace (or complement) virtual hand signals or instructions.

  3. The room where it happens - Invite people to introduce themselves and say something about the room they are joining from and who else is in there.

  4. Stand up and stretch - Particularly for longer meetings, take a two minute stretch break.

  5. Mindfulness body scan - Lead the group through a short mindfulness body scan, like the one on this page from NHS Cumbria  or this from Headspace (other resources are available).

What else have you tried?
